- Must be actively present in the Michigan School of Psychology (MSP) community
Cereta Perry Scholarship
Cereta Perry, one of the co-founders of MSP, has contributed a lot to diversity and education, hence the need to honor her with this scholarship program. This scholarship offers $1,000 to incoming MA students and $2,000 to incoming PsyD students. Aside from helping graduate students, this scholarship aims to recruit and support students from underrepresented places at the Michigan School of Psychology. The scholarship is awarded at the end of the first semester, and applicants’ results will be reviewed. The application deadline for this scholarship is August 15.
Eligibility
- Must be an incoming graduate student.
- Must demonstrate an excellent academic standing in their first semester.
- Must be part of a community of underrepresented groups in psychology, whether ethical. Racial or cultural wise.
Jill Benton Humanist Psychology Scholarship
For graduate students looking for a doctoral psychology scholarship, this is a perfect one. With a total of $1,000, students enjoy financial relief on their tuition payment. The Jill Benton Scholarship is open to the Michigan School of Psychology doctoral students. The scholarship awarding program honors the work of the former MSP Librarian and alumni for her contribution to humanistic psychology. The application will be open until the 28th of March.

MSP Student Professional Development Scholarship
The Michigan School of Psychology funds yearly to support students’ professional development. The MSP student professional development scholarship helps students pay for professional development training and conferences rather than regular tuition. Aombaye Ramsey Diversity Award
Created in 2004 to honor Dr. Aombaye’s commitment to social justice, the Aombaye Ramsey Diversity Award (ARDA) aims to support any third-year Ph.D. student with a similar outlook in advocating diversity issues. For this $1,000 award, priority is usually given to applicants from an ethnic, racial, or cultural group traditionally underrepresented in psychology. The application deadline for this diversity award is March 28th.
Eligibility
- Must be a full-time PsyD student with continuous good academic prowess.
- Must be interested in solving diversity issues and creating awareness via research, clinical work, or presentations.
- Must have experience advocating for underrepresented populations.
Sidney Berkowitz Scholarship For Clinical Excellence
The Sidney Berkowitz Scholarship is academic-based, as Clinical Excellence is an essential eligibility. It was established in 2022 to honor Dr. Berkowitz, a former faculty member and a great supporter of the Michigan School of Psychology. This scholarship is worth $1,000 and is open to MSP graduate students committed to clinical psychology practices using humanistic approaches. The application ends on May 31st.
Eligibility
- Must be a Master’s or PsyD student of MSP
- You must have an excellent academic standing, reflected in your results.
- Must make supervisory meetings a priority
- Masters students must demonstrate clinical excellence by earning a rating of 4.0 or higher in their supervisor’s clinical training evaluation.
- PsyD practicum students must demonstrate clinical excellence by earning a rating of 4.7 or higher in their supervisor’s clinical training evaluation.
