• For a successful Master by Research recipient who began their candidature on or after January 1, 2019, this scholarship will provide a stipend allowance equivalent to the minimum Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate (indexed on 1 January each year) for up to 1.75 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
• A successful PhD candidate who began their candidature on or after January 1, 2019 may be eligible for a three-year extension. The PhD recipient is urged to finish their PhD in three years, however they may seek for a 6-month extension of the principal stipend allowance.

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for International Postgraduate Research Scholarships in Fluorescent Sensing at the University of Sydney, Australia 2022-23:

• The Scholarship is contingent on the candidate receiving an unconditional offer of admission or being currently enrolled in a Masters by Research or PhD program at the University of Sydney’s School of Chemistry, Faculty of Science.
• Although an applicant without an unconditional offer of admission may apply and be accepted, no scholarship offers will be sent until the applicant has received an unconditional offer of admission.
• Applicants must be willing to work on fluorescence sensing devices for monitoring biologically important analytes.
• An Honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or a Masters’ degree with a major research component, must also be held by the applicant.
• An understanding of organic synthesis is required.
