Overview

UT Austin scholarships are open to both prospective students and current students alike. To begin your scholarship process, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), regardless of whether you’re a prospective or current student. The current scholarship application deadline is March 15. Admission is currently open for new students until December 1st of this year; if you’ve not applied, you can apply for it alongside your scholarship application. As an incoming student, you need to submit your FAFSA application on time, as you might miss out on financial aid if you miss the deadline. However, people who miss the deadline can have access to other scholarship types but not financial-based scholarships.

College and Department Scholarship

Outside the general school scholarship awards, many colleges and departments at UT Austin offer scholarships to their students, both new and current. Note that each college and department has its eligibility criteria, which you must meet.

Here are some of the colleges, schools, and departments that offer scholarships:

1. College of Natural Science (CNS) Scholarships

CNS is one of the colleges at UT Austin that offers scholarships to prospective and current students yearly. If you’re in the science field, you should not miss out on this. They provide different scholarship options, such as professional scholarships and out-of-state tuition waivers. This is usually for biological science, mathematics, Physics, Human ecology, and chemistry students. The scholarship is currently open, with March 15 as its deadline. The incoming students don’t need a separate application as their admission application covers that. However, to access this scholarship, you must have been admitted to the college or chosen the college as your first choice.
