Equipment Operator / Cherry Picker / High Lift Operator
Summary
The Equipment Operator/High Lift Operator assumes responsibility for operating power equipment, such as forklifts, standup forklifts, orders, or cherry pickers, in a safe and efficient manner. These operators are in charge of transporting cartons, pallets, or other product containers throughout the distribution center. The job mandates constant standing and repetitive motion, with the potential for equipment operation at heights exceeding 30 feet. The role necessitates consistent, fast-paced, and precise performance. Attentiveness to details, fundamental counting, and reasoning abilities are indispensable requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties
Essential Job Functions:
- Operates PIT equipment, such as sit-down forklifts, counter-balance lifts, cherry-pickers, turret trucks, and reach trucks within the safety and operational requirements established by the Company and equipment manufacturer.
- Unloads materials and components from incoming delivery trucks and stocks in inventory locations.
- Picks materials and components from inventory locations and stages for production runs.
- Stocks unused materials and components, and finished goods from production into inventory locations.
- Picks finished goods from inventory locations, stages for shipments, and loads outbound trucks.
- Completes PIT maintenance checklists for assigned equipment prior to operating and reports any safety gaps and mechanical repairs to the management team.
- Uses a handheld scanner and/or computer to process SAP transactions, review picklist transfer orders, track material movements, and audit shipments for completeness and accuracy. Reports discrepancies to the management team.
- Assist with training forklift operators within the department, as requested.
- Performs all work in a manner that is consistent with the company’s quality system including maintaining a clean and orderly work area at all times.
- Assists with safety investigations and corrective actions related to safety hazards and/or incidents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Duties May Include:
· Perform or assist as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
· Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.

The selected candidates will have the responsibility of operating a cherry picker to pluck fruits from our highly productive corporate cherry orchards. As part of their duties, they will need to exercise their expert judgment to determine the optimal time for harvesting, as well as use their proficiency in operating a cherry picker.
Responsibilities:
- Adjust and maneuver the arm to the desired position.
- Operate the controls of the crane to position loads.
- Lower and raise loads using the hydraulics system.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints.
- Communicate with crew members on site.
- Load and unload rigging equipment.
