High-income and developed, the nation is a favorite among foreigners seeking a more relaxed way of life. The number of foreigners relocating permanently to the Bahamas has increased because of the tax benefits, year-round pleasant weather, and access to excellent healthcare and education systems. Here, we'll discuss the requirements for relocating to this tropical paradise. These include key eligibility details and required documents to make your application easier. Are you ready? Let's go!

Bahamas Entry Rules

The entry and visa rules vary according to where you live and where you are a citizen. When someone is born in one nation and resides in another (that is, somewhere other than the United States or Canada), the documentation the person needs is determined by the country of birth. For entry into The Bahamas, citizens of nations other than the United States and Canada must show a valid passport for the duration of their trip.

Some countries also need a Bahamas visa. Six (6) months after the departure date will apply if you are leaving The Bahamas for a country with such a requirement.  In addition, you need to have a return or subsequent trip ticket, hotel confirmation (if lodging at a hotel), proof of address (or name and place of residence), and evidence of sufficient finances to cover your vacation. As for Bahamas immigration, you’ll definitely need a visa, depending on the reason for moving.

Visa Types for Immigration to The Bahamas

How can you move to the Bahamas? You can spend a year in the Bahamas with a long-stay visa/permit. However, you can apply for a variety of long-stay visas based on the reason for your visit, including:
