Cool WhatsApp Tricks You Should Try Out
Giving the fact that many people use WhatsApp including you, this post will teach you some hidden tricks you probably don’t know. Let’s get started right away.
1. Hide WhatsApp Images in Gallery
This one is my favorite. Sometimes your gallery gets messy with tons of images, yeah, unnecessary images sent by your friends or some WhatsApp groups you below to. So if you like keeping your smartphone’s gallery clean then you will definitely want to hide these pictures.
So kindly follow these steps to achieve that :
- Download a file explorer, such as ES File Explorer from Google play store.
- Navigate to sdcard/WhatsApp/Media.
- Enter the folder you don’t want shared (in this case, WhatsApp Images).
- Tap the plus button at the bottom of the screen.
- Name the new folder .nomedia and you are done.
NOTE that you can use same trick to hide anything you don’t want to appear in your gallery such as secret videos, etc.
2. Spy Your Friend’s WhatsApp Conversation.
I’m not sure why you would want to do this but just in case you are suspicious about something and would really want to check things by yourself then you can spy a friend’s WhatsApp conversation.
The only thing needed is for you to move a folder or two from the friend’s phone unto yours. Let’s go into this proper:
First, on your friend’s smartphone you need to go navigate to the MicroSD card. Go into the WhatsApp folder and scroll down to the Repository option or database folder. In the database folder you’ll get two files including,
msgstore–yyyy.. dd.. db. crypt (yyy and dd will be year and date), msgstore. db. crypt.
After finding these files, you should transfer these files from the friends mobile and then you will be able to read their conversations with their friends. You can open them using a simple text publisher.
3. Hide Profile Picture on WhatsApp.
Supposing you don’t want to show your profile picture to your friends on WhatsApp then you can use this simple method to hide it.
- Simply launch WhatsApp and go to Settings using the option button.
- Click Account Privacy option and select Profile Photo and choose the NOBODY option.
- Your friends will no longer see your profile pictures.
4. Lock your WhatsApp.
You don’t want people to spy on your chat with friends on WhatsApp right? Well you can protect your WhatsApp using a PIN. To achieve this either on Android or blackberry smartphone we need to download an application from the respective stores.
If you are using Android OS, There is WhatsApp Secure – which can be gotten from the Google play store, while BlackBerry users may wish to check out Secure for WhatsApp.
Basically, both of these types of apps work in the same way: when you install them, WhatsApp will be protected by a PIN and anyone trying to access your WhatsApp will have to provide the PIN.
